Orland, IN - Officials with Miller Poultry of Orland have released results of a recent company wide COVID-19 testing that took place.
The results of the tests revealed that 136 out of 791 team members tested positive for COVID 19. The number shows that only 17% of the staff tested positive.
In a statement to staff, Miller Poultry Officials said “it is also important to recognize that well over 85% of these positives were asymptomatic prior to testing and still today are having no clinical symptoms”. Officials, added these numbers are very low compared to what other meat and poultry plants are seeing across the country.
Miller Poultry feels that the numbers reflect that the many preventative measures that were put in place weeks ago, along with the additional PPE are working.
Production was back up and running on Tuesday, May 5th, at 70% of normal capacity.
Miller Poultry says they will continue to be transparent with future updates to their “valued employees, and the community they serve”. In their statement, they asked they community to join them in keeping the affected team members in your thoughts as they wait out their quarantine period.
