Orland Suspends Annual Festival for 2020
By: Sheila McCrea - Thursday, May 14, 2020

ORLAND, IN - Plans for another area annual event has been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Orland Chamber has made a decision to cancel their annual Orland Vermont Settlement Festival for summer 2020. In a news release from chamber, President Jim Milleman said the decision to not have the festival was a very hard decision that was not easy to make. The annual event has been a time honored tradition for many years. With the uncertainty of how COVID-19 will continue to affect Hoosiers and the entire tri-state region, Milleman said they will wait until next summer to enjoy the traditions of the festival.

Milleman also said, the Orland Chamber wanted to thank everyone who attends the festival, “both those who come for the enjoyment, but especially to the vendors and local businesses who support our efforts”.

The Orland Vermont Settlement Festival takes place yearly during the 4th weekend in July. The annual event celebrates Orland as “the birthplace of Steuben County”.
