Officials with the Pleasant Lake Days celebration scheduled for August 7th and 8th have made the decision to cancel this year's festivities.

In a release to the public officials cite, "It takes a lot of planning and preparation ahead of time to make it happen with many volunteers. It would put hundreds of people in close proximity to each other increasing the risk and possibility of the virus spreading to all who attend."

While the festival is on hold for 2020, it is expected to return in 2021.

In addition, fireworks will go on regardless on the lake at dusk on Saturday, August 8th.
