The excessive heat and humidity, accompanied with pop up thunderstorms that were severe in some areas on Wednesday will remain much of the story for Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service, a chance of showers and thunderstorms will remain in the forecast for the day today with the best chance of activity coming after 3 P.M., along with another day of temperatures lingering in the low 90 degree range. With showers in the forecast throughout the day on Friday, a minor reprieve temperature wise is expected with highs to end the work week expected to only reach the mid 80s.

The chance for showers and storms will linger in the forecast for much of the weekend, with anywhere from a 30 to 40 percent chance of rain standing for anytime with highs for the weekend also remaining in the low to mid 80s.
