AUBURN, IN - Authorities are warning the public about candy-shaped drugs.
Auburn Police Department Chief McCoy wants citizens to be aware that the Drug Enforcement Administration is warning of methamphetamines made to look like bits of candy or children’s vitamins. Chief McCoy says they have been found in Ohio and law enforcement believes they could spread into more of the Midwest.
The DEA says at first glance, the multi-colored tablets might pass for candy. The colors, shapes and emblems look kid friendly but in fact the pills are downright dangerous.
The pastel colored tablets are methamphetamine pills.
The DEA is warning parents to be on alert and to talk to children about the new, troubling trend.
