The Angola Common Council approved a fire protection and emergency services agreement on Monday evening.
The Council approved a Pleasant Township Fire Protection and Emergency Services Agreement which will become effective on January 1st of 2021 through December 31st, 2030. The agreement will be for $571,000 in 2021 and $696,000 in 2022. Subsequent years will be based on the allocation of city fire services based on net assessed value. The agreement will provide much needed fire protection to lake residents in the area. The Pleasant Township board will throw in an additional $300,000 to provide an additional fire truck. The Council also agreed to a two percent increase to the Mayor and Clerk-Treasurer's salary and the board members' pay will remain the same.
The next Council meeting will be on Monday, August 3rd, 2020.
