U.S. 6 Temporary Road Closure Begins On Friday

Beginning on Friday, July 24th there will be a temporary road closure on US 6 at the railroad crossing on the east side of Butler, IN. This road closure is expected to run for one week, through Friday July 31, 2020.

According to a release from the Indiana State Police, all motorist will be affected by this closure, however there is specific concern regarding semi-truck traffic, specifically those oversize loads coming into Indiana from Ohio. US 6 is a narrow two lane highway, and there is no area suitable for these larger vehicles to get to turned around in order to re-route.

All truck traffic needing to travel to or through Butler, Indiana via US 6 during this period need to plan ahead accordingly. The I-80/90 Toll Road, US20, or US24 corridors should be considered as possible re-routing options.
