ANGOLA — Angola’s historic movie theater has new owners.

The Brokaw Movie House, located at 200 North Public Square in Angola, has been sold by Scott and Melissa Glaze to its new owners, Joe and Libby Hysong. The transaction took place earlier this fall.

The Hysong’s are no strangers to the downtown area, owning multiple businesses on monument square.

Under the Glaze ownership the movie house saw a complete upgrade to the facility. The Hysong’s say they have made just a few minor changes. They have added a small retail store to the movie theater.

During the sales transaction, the liquor license for the theater was not retained. Movie-goers can no longer enjoy an alcoholic beverage during their experience. Alcohol can still be catered in for facilities rentals.
