INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Partners for Pollution Prevention (Partners) welcomes Hanson Aggregates and St. Joseph Energy Center into the program. Both companies will be inducted in early 2021 at a Partners Quarterly meeting. St. Joseph Energy Center (SJEC) is a natural gas-fired combined-cycle electrical power generation station located in New Carlisle, IN. The facility utilizes cutting-edge pollution control technology to protect air and water resources. The combined electrical energy output is 725 megawatts of safe and reliable power which is transmitted onto the PJM Interconnection grid. SJEC has been in operation since 2018.

Hanson Aggregates Midwest LLC Harding Street Quarry is one of the largest producers of crushed stone, sand, and gravel in the U.S. The Harding Street Quarry in Indianapolis, IN is an Environmental Stewardship Council Member that is monitored by the Indiana Mineral and Aggregates Association. They have received several outstanding environmental awards over the years. The facility was acquired and has been in production since 1999.

These two new members join 102 other Indiana businesses that have committed to the Partner Pledge. Partners also go above and beyond with their commitment to voluntary environmental initiatives. A Partners membership provides each company with opportunities to network with other industries, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and governmental entities that share an interest in pollution prevention. They also will benefit from learning about the financial and environmental benefits of pollution prevention projects from the Partners organization. Partners hold three quarterly meetings a year and an annual conference and trade show where members exchange ideas, receive updates on regulations and hear pollution prevention success stories.
