CENTREVILLE – There won't be any change in the leadership of the St. Joseph County Commission in 2021.
During their first meeting of the new year Tuesday, the Commissioners voted unanimously to have Dennis Allen serve once again as the Commission Chairman. Following the vote, Allen says he appreciates the trust and confidence of his fellow Commissioners to be Chairman once again. He says his job is made easier by working with such professional individuals as the Commission along with the County's staff and Administrator, and he is looking forward to a better 2021.
Allen was elected to the Commission in 2016 and will be serving a third consecutive term as Chairman. He represents St. Joseph County's Third District, which is made up of Florence, Lockport, Nottawa, and Sherman Townships.
The Commissioners also voted 5-0 to have Kathy Pangle serve as the Vice Chairman for the new year. Pangle was also elected to the County Commission in 2016 and represents the Second District, which includes Burr Oak, Colon, Leonidas, Mendon, and Park Townships. Tuesday was also the first meeting for newly elected Commissioner Jared Hoffmaster says he is looking forward to serving the residents of St. Joseph County. He says he thanks the rest of the Commission for reaching out to him and
welcoming him.
Hoffmaster represents the First District, which includes the City of Three Rivers, along with Fabius and Flowerfield Townships. He replaces Allen Balog who did not seek re-election but instead ran for the Republican nomination to be the 59th District State Representative.
