COVID Vaccine Now Available To Everyone 16 And Older
By: Mike Stiles - Monday, March 29, 2021

COLDWATER – Anyone age 16 and older in the tri-county area is now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency has removed all barriers to receiving the vaccine. Appointments are available now by going to their website at bhsj.org. There is no cost, no insurance card will be requested and they will accept any form of ID for individuals seeking vaccination.

Health Officer Rebecca Burns says everyone 16 and older can schedule an appointment at one of the clinics offered by the CHA. For those that can't make it to one of the clinics, there are other locations in the tri-county area that are offering appointments to the public.

COVID-19 positivity rates have increased in the area recently. The CHA says as of March 23 St. Joseph County was at 9.3 percent; Branch County was 11.2 percent and Hillsdale County was at 12.3 percent. Burns says other parts of the State are also seeing increases, which makes it more important than ever to get vaccinated.

Individuals that are fully vaccinated who have had close contact with a COVID positive person are not required to quarantine unless they are symptomatic.
