ANGOLA, IN - The Angola Board of Zoning Appeals held a public hearing to a variance in the Fox Lake Association on Monday evening.

The Applicant and Owner Robert Kessler of 555 Ln 130 Fox Lk in Angola, IN requested a variance to construct an accessory garage structure over the maximum allowable structure size across the setback/property lines. The variance request was heavily contested by the surrounding neighbors in the Fox Lake area. The structure size of 1500 square feet was denied by the board due to its potential to block sightlines and stand out because of the small size of the structures and homes in the area. A second variance was approved to have a 900 square foot structure built but the structure would need to be built on the internal lot and meet setback standards.
