Sturgis Man Arrested in Three Rivers on Multiple Charges

THREE RIVERS – A Sturgis man is in custody following his arrest in Three Rivers

Three Rivers Police say at 8:15 Friday morning, they were called to investigate a breaking and entering that was in progress. The homeowner told police a person broke into their garage and was still in the dwelling.

Officers arrived and found someone forced their way into the garage and were still inside.

Police called for the Department's K-9 officer. They made contact with the suspect and said K-9 Officer Jake would be released if the subject didn't give up. The suspect complied with officers and was taken into custody.

Officers say the 25 year old Sturgis man was under the influence of meth along with being in possession of the drug and suspected stolen property. It was also discovered that he was a parole absconder.

He was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail on charges of home invasion and possession of meth.
