By: Mike Stiles - Tuesday, April 13, 2021

BETHEL TOWNSHIP – Michigan State Police are looking for a person who was observed near the scene of an arson.

Investigators say troopers and the Bronson Fire Department were sent to the 200 block of Kosmerick Road near Clearwater Road in Branch County's Bethel Township at 8:30 PM April 7 for an excavator that was on fire. The machine was unoccupied and parked in a farm field. Once the fire was put out, it was determined the blaze was intentionally set.

Several witnesses told investigators they saw a woman with brown hair between 5'6” and 5'9” tall carrying a dark colored backpack near the area of the arson. She was last seen walking west on Kosmerick Road near South Snow Prairie Road.

If anyone has information on this individual or the fire, they are asked to call Trooper Miller at the Michigan State Police Post in Marshall, 269-558-0500.
