2022 Vermont Settlement Festival

ORLAND – The Vermont Settlement Festival in Orland takes place this Saturday and Sunday at the Orland Town Park off of S.R. 327.

The festival celebrates 188th anniversary of Vermont Settlement, the oldest settlement in Steuben County.

The festival kicks off Saturday with a Vermont Settlement Classic 5k starting at 6 a.m. and a two mile walk beginning at 8 a.m. at the Orland Town Park.

Following the races is the annual Vermont Settlement Parade starting at 11 a.m.

Denny Bic takes the Orland Park Main Stage at 1 p.m. followed up by Showdown 3:30 p.m. and then Fog Delay at 6 p.m.

The event is fun for the entire family with free attractions such as an inflatable bounce house, a water slide and a petting zoo both days. Other attractions both days will include craft row, food truck lane and an antique tractor display.

On Sunday, the Kayak Sprint begins at 10 a.m. followed by the mud volleyball tournament at 11 a.m.

Musical entertainment will feature Ben Leu at12:30 p.m. followed by Jim Weber and Erica Schwartz starting a 3 p.m. and rounding out the festival.

Tether hot air balloon rides will be offered both days, weather permitting. The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for children.

Event entry and parking are completely free and open to the public.

Pets are not welcome at the festival.

The event is sponsored by the Orland Area Chamber of Commerce.
