Heat and humidity will build on Wednesday with afternoon heat indices peaking near or slightly above 100 degrees.

The National Weather Service says a cold front moves through Wednesday afternoon/evening, with heat and humidity fueling chances for thunderstorms, with some possibly strong to severe.

Forecasters say multiple rain and storm chances are in the forecast in the coming days, with the possibility for severe storms.

Highs will be in the 90s on Wednesday, and in the low to mid 80s on Thursday and Friday.
