Winter Storm Warning Issued Friday Morning

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning.

As of 5 a.m. Friday morning, the Warning will remain in effect until midnight on March 4, 2023.

Forecasters say wet heavy snow is expected, as well as isolated thunderstorms possible.

Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 with are expected with some areas possibly seeing higher amounts around 10 inches. There could also be winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

The Warning is for portions of northern Indiana, southwest Michigan and northwest Ohio.

Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.

The combination of gusty winds and heavy, wet snow could bring down tree branches and lead to power outages.

Several area schools throughout he multi-state region took precautions by cancelling in person learning for the day on Friday.
