PLEASANT LAKE – An Ashley man took out a mailbox and crashed into a ditch in near Pleasant Lake.
The Ashley-Hudson Police Department responded to an incident of a possible intoxicated driver on Saturday, August 5 just before 6:30 p.m.
Deputies overhead a dispatch of a driver who reportedly struck a mailbox.
The vehicle driven by Michael A. Moreno Jr., 33, of Ashley was located as he turned down C.R. 400 W heading south towards Ashley.
Moreno drove into a ditch and officers initiated a traffic stop.
Officers developed probable cause to believe Moreno was operating while intoxicated.
Moreno refused a certified chemical test, but officers were granted a search warrant to have a blood test drawn instead.
Moreno was preliminarily charged with a Level 6 Felony of operating while intoxicated with a prior conviction, a Class A Misdemeanor of operating while intoxicated endangerment, and Class B Misdemeanor leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
