ANGOLA - The Steuben County Sheriff's Office announced the hiring of two new deputies on Monday, August 7.
Deputy Alex Patterson and Deputy Max Hamilton, both native to Steuben County, were sworn in as deputies.
Both Deputy Patterson and Deputy Hamilton started their careers by working for the Steuben County Jail.
Deputy Patterson is a 2019 graduate of Fremont High school.
Deputy Hamilton is a 2020 graduate of Angola High School and is a member of the Indiana Air National Guard.
The sheriff's office said both deputies reside in rural Steuben County and have started their field training before attending the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in late 2023 or early 2024.
