COLDWATER, MI – A suspect is in custody after a stabbing incident over the weekend.
Coldwater Director of Public Safety Joseph Scheid says just after 2:30 PM Saturday, Coldwater Police were called to the area of East Chicago Road near the southbound on-ramp of I-69 on a report of a stabbing, and possibly shots fired.
Officers located a 24 year old Coldwater man who had two stab wounds, who was taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
A suspect was identified as a 38 year old Indiana man, who was located and taken into custody. Officers determined that no shots were fired.
Assisting at the scene were the Branch County Sheriff’s Office, the Coldwater Fire Department and Life Care Ambulance.
