INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The Free Application for Federal Student Aid deadline is right around the corner, and according to officials the number of applicants is dropping.
The final day to fill out applications is May 15th, a month after the original deadline to give students more time to fill everything out.
But officials say even with the extra time applications have been lacking, and according to past data application numbers dropped by 1.5% in 2029 and 1.4% in 2020.
Officials also say that even if students don't plan on going to college, or not head to college right away they should still fill out their FAFSA forms because it will help them out in the future.
