Steuben County, IN - Indiana State Police Trooper Ben Walker of the Fort Wayne Post was recognized by the Indiana chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D.) for his commendable effort in detecting and removing impaired drivers from our Indiana roadways.

In 2020, of the 111 motorists that Trooper Walker investigated for impaired driving behavior, 56 of those motorists were arrested for “Operating While Intoxicated”.

Walker’s supervisor, Sergeant Matt Lazoff stated that, “Trooper Walker is aggressive in his patrol style, yet extremely professional. He embodies the character, attitude, and effort expected of an Indiana State Trooper, and his dedication to duty reflects greatly upon himself and the Indiana State Police.”

Trooper Walker is a graduate of the 78th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy (2018). He was first assigned to the Toll Road Post, and then in April of 2020 was granted a transfer to the Fort Wayne Post, where is currently assigned to road patrol duties in Steuben County.
