BRISTOL - An Elkhart teen was killed and two other people injured in a one vehicle accident.
The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office says 18 year old Ruby Barcenas was driving east on County Road 108, east of County Road 31 just after 8:30 Thursday night. Her vehicle went off the north side of the road and struck a tree. Deputies say 17 year old Juan Avalos Jr., of Elkhart was killed in the crash.
Barcenas and another passenger, 18 year old Alan Gomez of Goshen, were injured and taken by ambulance to Elkhart General Hospital. Barcenas had neck and hip injuries while Gomez had a possible head injury. Avalos was not wearing a safety belt. Both Barcenas and Gomez were wearing their safety belts.
