ELKHART – A Centreville woman escaped injuries in a three vehicle hit and run accident in Elkhart.

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office says a vehicle was heading west on County Road 20, approaching the intersection of Charlie Drive. A second vehicle, operated by 42 year old Jennifer Ray-Lawson of Elkhart, was also traveling west on County Road 20.

Authorities say the first vehicle struck Lawson's vehicle from behind, causing it to move into the path of an east bound automobile driven by 57 year old Laura Telsworth of Centreville, and the vehicles collided. The first vehicle left the scene.

Lawson was taken to Elkhart General Hospital to be treated for a cut to the face and neck pain. Telsworth was not injured. The incident is still under investigation.
