COLDWATER – A traffic stop led to the arrest of a man on multiple charges.

Michigan State Police say they stopped a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee around 2 AM Friday in Coldwater for equipment violations. The driver, a 29 year old Litchfield man, was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for theft out of Hillsdale County.

Troopers searched the vehicle and found more than 25 grams of alleged methamphetamine and some stolen tools. A 28 year old Hillsdale woman was a passenger in the vehicle. She was eventually released from the scene.

The driver is being held in the Branch County Jail. The matter is still under investigation.
