BRONSON – Authorities say a man on a motorcycle was injured Monday morning when he crashed while trying to miss a deer.

According to Michigan State Police, a 23 year old man was east of Bronson on U.S. 12 near Wayne Street at 2:30 AM Monday, and moved his motorcycle so as not to hit a deer. He crashed his bike and broke a collarbone, along with suffering some severe scrapes.

He took himself to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital. Troopers say the man did not call 911, but they were notified of the incident by hospital staff. The motorcyclist was given a ticket for speeding.
