Monday, August 29, 2022

WATERLOO, IN - Authorities in DeKalb County are investigating a crash that left three injured Saturday night.

According to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department, a Saturn Vue was heading west on U.S. 6 at around 10:45 PM, when the driver slowed down because an animal was in the road.

Investigators say that’s when a Mitsubishi Eclipse, which was driving too close behind, rear-ended the Vue.

The Vue came to rest in a ditch north of U.S. 6.

Reports indicate the driver of the Eclipse was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and suffered a head injury.

The driver and passenger of the Vue both complained of head and body pain.

All three were transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Assisting the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department at the scene was the Waterloo Marshal’s Office, Butler Police Department, Parkview EMS, and the Waterloo Fire Department.
