Negotiations between two health care giants within Northeast Indiana has landed back in hands of Parkview Health as its latest negotiations with insurance giant Anthem state that the new proposal issued would keep its customers in the Parkview network beyond the expiration of the current agreement, one that is set to end at 11:59 P.M. on July 28th.
Representatives from Anthem say they expect to receive a response to the proposal by the end of the week.
While neither side has said much during months of negotiations, Anthem noted earlier this month that Parkview had put its own revised proposal on the table for review. No details have been made public on that pitch nor on Anthem's response, which was delivered last week.
If for some reason a new agreement is not reached by the July 28th deadline, thousands of area residents would face higher costs for services at Parkview facilities or for using Parkview doctors.
