COLDWATER – A Bronson area man has had his case bound over following a preliminary examination.
Branch County District Court officials say 31 year old Aundra Smolek is officially charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, two counts of unlawful imprisonment and one count of domestic violence.
The Michigan State Police and Bronson Police were send to a home on Stoney Point Drive in Gilead Township just after 9 PM December 27. A woman called police after receiving a text message from her daughter who was at the house and not allowed to leave.
Officers arrived and made contact with the woman who said she and her boyfriend came to the house to collect some of her belongings that were left at Smolek's house when she and Smolek dated. Smolek allegedly showed a knife and said they could not leave until the woman performed sexual acts on both men.
Smolek was eventually taken into custody. He is being held on a $50,000 bond in the Branch County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Circuit Court on February 1.
