Update for Bronson HS Lock Down Wednesday Afternoon
By: Mike Stiles - Thursday, February 25, 2021

BRONSON – Bronson JR/SR High School went into a soft lockdown Wednesday because of a potential threat.

A posting Wednesday on the Bronson Schools Facebook page announced that a potential threat was made against the building. As part of the school district's procedures, the students and staff were placed in a soft lockdown, which means they were not allowed to leave the building and no one was permitted to enter.

School officials say the Bronson Police Department, the Branch County Sheriff's Department and the Michigan State Police assisted in investigating the potential threat. They determined there was no threat and lifted the lockdown order at 2:30 PM. Students were able to leave at their normal time. Law enforcement continues to investigate the matter.
