INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Poultry Producers were recently recognized by Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch, Indiana State Department of Agriculture Director Bruce Kettler and the Indiana State Poultry Association for their generosity.
During the 75th annual Indiana state poultry recognition event at the Indiana Statehouse, it was shared that over the past year, Indiana poultry farmers have donated nearly 100 tons (or 200,000 pounds) of poultry products to Hoosiers in need. That number includes 98,500 pounds of chicken products donated by Miller Poultry, Orland.
According to Rachel Sanborn, Miller’s spokeswoman, between
Indiana and donations being made in Ohio and Michigan, Miller will have donated more than 190,000 pounds of chicken and chicken products this year.
