ANGOLA, IN - The head coach of the Angola High School’s girls basketball team has resigned.
According to school district officials from the Metropolitan School District of Steuben County, Head Coach Nick Burlingame resigned last week on Friday.
No details have been shared from school officials as to why Burlingame stepped down.
In November 2021 there was an investigation into the girls basketball program at Angola. During that time, two other coaches had voluntarily resigned before the investigation began. After a review of the staff was conducted, the district moved forward with the basketball season with Burlingame still at the lead.
Burlingame has been the head coach with the Angola girls program since returning to his alma mater in 2020.
