KENDALLVILLE — The Dekko Foundation, located in Kendallville, recently awarded more than $339-thousand in grants and pledges to several youth-serving organizations during its most recent round of grantmaking.
Dekko has a mission of fostering economic freedom through education.
During their most recent round of awards, three area organizations received grants and pledges.
In LaGrange County, LaGrange First Church of God was awarded $42,000 to support operations at the Lighthouse Montessori Education Center in Ashley.
The DeKalb County Central United School District in Waterloo was awarded $50,000 to support the purchase of new playground equipment so that students and community members have more recreational options and opportunities to socialize with one another.
In Auburn, the Children First Center was awarded $40,000 to support the organization’s growing capacity to serve families in northeast Indiana and promote the healthy development of children and young people.
Since 1981, the Dekko Foundation has awarded more than $260 million in grants to organizations that serve children and young people from birth through age 18.
