LAGRANGE - A LaGrange County jail confinement officer was arrested for sexual battery against an inmate.
On October 23, 2023 the LaGrange County Sheriff requested the Indiana State Police investigate an alleged sexual battery that occurred at the LaGrange County Jail involving an inmate and a confinement officer.
A detective from the ISP Fort Wayne Post was assigned to investigate the complaint.
In mid-November that investigation was completed and the case report was submitted to the LaGrange County Prosecutor for review and determination of any warranted criminal charges to be filed.
Yesterday, November 30, 2023, subsequent to prosecutorial review, an arrest warrant was issued for LaGrange County Jail Confinement Officer Jaden Boyd, 21, of LaGrange, for Sexual Misconduct with a Service Provider, a Level 5 Felony, under IC 35-44.1-3-10.
The arrest warrant was served yesterday by officers of the LaGrange County Sheriff's Department.
Boyd was located at his residence and taken into custody without incident.
He is currently being housed in the Steuben County Jail awaiting an initial court appearance.
Any inquiries regarding Jaden Boyd's employment status with the LaGrange County Jail should be directed to the LaGrange County Sheriff's office.
