ANGOLA - An old tired car caught fire in the parking lot of the WLKI Radio Station.
On Thursday, at approximately 3 p.m. the owner of the car was attempting to leave when her car wouldn't start.
After trying to start the piece-of-junk car several times she noticed smoke coming from her hood.
When she lifted her hood she discovered flames shooting from the engine compartment of the early 2000s Volkswagon Jetta.
The owner along with the assistance of good Samaritans pushed the car away from other cars to prevent the fire from spreading.
They then dispensed two fire extinguishers into the car, but the fire persisted.
The Angola Fire Department arrived on scene a short time later and quickly and efficiently put out the car fire.
Officers from the Steuben County Sheriff's Department, the Angola City Police and the Indiana State Police arrived on scene as well to assist the Angola Fire Department.
No injuries were reported, and the car was stated to be a total loss.
