DEKALB COUNTY – Steuben County Councilmen and County Commissioner nominee, Rick Shipe was elected as Association of Indiana Counties’ (AIC) Northeast District President.
The election took place during the Northeast District meeting in DeKalb County.
The AIC stated as District President Shipe will represent the elected county officials in the Northeast District of Indiana.
The counties he will represent include Adams, Allen, Blackford, DeKalb, Elkhart, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, and Whitley.
There are a total of six districts in the state of Indiana and Shipe will serve on the AIC’s Board of Directors, which determines policies and legislative goals for the Association.
“I was surprised by the nomination from my fellow councilman Dan Caruso and honored to be elected the NE District president,” said Shipe.
“I am honored to represent the NE District at the state level.”
Tom Krueckeberg, Adams County Recorder was elected District Vice President of the AIC Northeast District.
