(COLDWATER) – A Coldwater man was assaulted by a homeless person.
Coldwater Director Of Public Safety Joe Scheid says police were called to a man standing in the road on East Chicago Road near Clay Street just after 11 PM Tuesday. Officers encountered a 38 year old Calhoun County man who was agitated and had blood on his hands.
While police were talking with this individual, another call came in from a 33 year old Coldwater man who said the Calhoun County man assaulted him.
The Coldwater man told officers he was driving on East Chicago Road when he was blocked by the suspect, who was standing in the street, refusing to let him pass. The victim stopped his auto and got out, and was assaulted by the homeless man. During the altercation the suspect bit the victim in the face.
Officers also say several windows were broken in the area prior to the assault.
The suspect is expected to face felony charges, and the case remains under investigation.
If anyone has information on the assault or the damaged windows, they are asked to call Officer Saleh at 517-278-4525.
