(PAULDING COUNTY) – A crash early Sunday morning left one teen dead and another in serious condition.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a car driven by an 18 year old man was heading north on County Road 133 at 1 AM Sunday. The preliminary investigation shows the driver failed to stop at the intersection of County Road 133 and State Road 111. After going through the intersection, officers say the vehicle went off the left side of the road and struck a tree.
The passenger in the vehicle, 17 year old Kaiya Klopfenstein of Defiance, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver had serious injuries from the crash and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation.
