(QUINCY) – The Quincy Village Council has voted to revoke the marijuana grow and sale license of a company.
During their meeting Tuesday, the Village Council held a public hearing regarding the license for the Romulus Marijuana Group. During the public hearing, it was shared that the company had obtained a license to construct a building north of the railroad tracks that run behind the McDonald's in Quincy, but they never started the project.
Romulus Group kept the license active in both 2024 and 2025. However, they did not pay the annual fees, which was $60,000.
Following the public hearing, the Village Council voted to revoke the license.
In a separate matter, the Village Council also voted to cut the number of approved licenses from four down to three. They also agreed that if an application is sent to the Village, they would consider any requests made to locate another properly licensed recreational marijuana business in Quincy.
