The Knights regained the lead at the 5:25 minute mark and then again just before the end of the quarter to make it a two-goal game again, 4-2, after the first 15 minutes.

In the second period, Calvin gained some breathing room with six goals and held Trine to a single goal which came at the 10:45 mark off the stick of Zanichelli for his second marker of the game. The Knights ended the half with three straight scores to increase the margin to 10-3 at the break.

Coming out of the locker rooms, Calvin got the scoring started with a goal on a man advantage with 7:25 to play in the period. Trine looked to gain a little momentum heading into the final quarter by scoring two goals to end the third thanks to sophomore Jack Konicek and freshman Klein Burkholder to make it an 11-5 game heading into the fourth quarter.

The only scores in the fourth were tallied by Calvin as the Knights struck for four goals to pad its lead to 10 points en route to the 15-5 final. Zanichelli was the lone multi-goal scorer for Trine. Konicek also finished with a multi-point afternoon as he tallied an assist to go along with his goal scored. Burkholder finished with a point with his goal to round out the point scorers on the day for the Thunder.

Defensively, sophomore Caleb Brickley had a game-tying high three caused turnovers. Konicek led the Thunder with five ground balls and sophomore goalkeeper Anthony Marasco was second with three ground balls.

In net, both Marasco and freshman Nick DiPaolo saw playing time with Marasco getting the start. Marasco made a total of six saves during his time in net, while DiPaolo recorded seven stops.
