(COLDWATER) - Residents planning to take part in this year's Winterfest Sled Races can get a head start on their sled designs during a free Sled Building Workshop scheduled for Saturday, January 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The workshop is being offered through a partnership between the Kiwanis Club of Coldwater and Marshall Community Credit Union, with support from the City of Coldwater.

The hands-on event is designed to help families and kids kick-start their sled creations ahead of Winterfest, which is scheduled for January 24th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Heritage Park.

Workshop organizers say participants will have access to guidance, materials, and inspiration to build unique and creative sleds for the festival.

Registration for the workshop is free, but advance sign-up is required. Interested participants can register online through the City of Coldwater's Parks and Recreation channels.

Winterfest organizers say they are looking forward to seeing the imaginative sled designs hit the snow later this season, calling the workshop a fun way to build excitement and bring the community together.
