(AUBURN) - A 25-year-old Auburn man was injured Thursday evening after suffering a seizure while driving on State Road 205 in DeKalb County, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:42 p.m. in the 6000 block of State Road 205. Investigators say the driver, identified as Jackson Brandon, was traveling eastbound when he attempted to pass a group of vehicles. During the maneuver, Brandon suffered a seizure, causing his vehicle to swerve between the eastbound and westbound lanes before leaving the roadway and striking a tree.
Brandon was driving a 2008 Saturn Astra, which sustained an estimated $10,000 in damage. He complained of head pain at the scene and was transported to Parkview DeKalb Hospital for treatment.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and no additional injuries were reported.
The accident is being investigated by Deputy Brandon Quesinberry. The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by DeKalb County Central Communications, the LaOtto Fire Department, Indiana State Police, Parkview EMS, and Jeff's Towing.
