(CHURUBUSCO) - Two people were seriously injured in a crash Monday morning on U.S. 33 near Churubusco.
Police say the crash happened at the Allen-Whitley County line when a car slid on icy pavement and began to spin. A second vehicle then struck the car, forcing it into a ditch.
Both drivers were transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
The crash shut down part of U.S. 33 for several hours Monday. Authorities say the roadway has now reopened.
Drivers are urged to remain cautious as winter weather continues to create hazardous road conditions.
