(BRONSON) - City officials in Bronson are urging residents and business owners to clear snow and ice from sidewalks following recent winter weather that has created hazardous conditions for pedestrians.

Officials say many sidewalks remain uncleared, forcing pedestrians -- including students walking to school -- into the roadway, increasing the risk of accidents and injuries.

Under Section 34(A) of the Bronson City Charter, property owners are required to keep sidewalks in front of their homes or businesses free of snow and ice. City leaders say timely shoveling helps ensure safe, accessible walkways for everyone in the community.

Officials emphasized that maintaining sidewalks not only improves safety for neighbors and schoolchildren, but also helps keep Bronson walkable during winter conditions.
