All Aboard for Valentine's Weekend: Wine, Chocolate and Cozy Train Rides Roll Into Angola

(ANGOLA -- Valentine's Day weekend is getting a romantic twist on the rails as the Steuben County Tourism Bureau highlights two special winter train experiences departing from Angola.

Adults 21 and older can sip and savor during Wine & Winter Cozy, a two-hour vintage passenger train excursion featuring complimentary hot chocolate and wine tastings from Acres Away Winery. First-class passengers will also receive complimentary dessert boxes. Trains depart Saturday, Feb. 14, at 4 and 7 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 15, at 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.

Families and riders of all ages can also enjoy the Hot Chocolate Festival, a one-hour train ride where every guest is greeted with complimentary hot chocolate. Multiple seating options are available, including deluxe, family table and Pullman seating. Rides are scheduled for Feb. 14 at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m., and Feb. 15 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Parking and boarding takes place at 611 W Maumee St in Angola.

Tourism officials say the excursions offer a warm, festive way to celebrate the holiday while enjoying northeast Indiana's winter scenery. Tickets for both events are available through the Indiana Rail Experience, and space is limited. The events are hosted in partnership with the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society.
