Steuben County GOP Honors Karen Shelton, Hears From Sheriff Candidate at Saturday Breakfast

(STEUBEN COUNTY) - The Steuben County Republican Party held its Saturday morning breakfast recognizing outgoing Vice Chair Karen Shelton for her service and commitment to the local party.

Party officials said Shelton was honored as she steps down from her role. Expressions of gratitude were delivered by GOP Chairman Rick Michael, Vice Chair Molly Weber, Secretary Gage King, and Treasurer Ryan Herbert.

Shelton also received framed letters of recognition from several state and local leaders, including U.S. Sen. Jim Banks, Indiana House District 51 Rep. Tony Isa, Steuben County Commissioners Wil Howard, Rick Shipe, and Andy Laughlin, along with Angola Mayor Dave Martin.

Additional recognition came from Pat Brown, the Indiana Republican Party, and the Angola Area Chamber of Commerce.

The breakfast also featured remarks from Chris Emerick, who addressed attendees and answered questions about his campaign for Steuben County sheriff.

Looking ahead to upcoming elections, attendees heard from Tyler Turnwald of Americans for Prosperity - Indiana, who spoke about key races and an upcoming Feb. 19 trip to the Indiana Statehouse.
