(STEUBEN COUNTY) - Steuben County sheriff candidate Mike Meeks has announced he received an endorsement from Kurt J. Schneider, an Ohio sheriff who is a native of Steuben County.
Schneider currently serves as sheriff of Ashland County, Ohio, and maintains longstanding ties to Steuben County. In a statement released by the campaign, he cited the importance of experienced leadership and community trust in the sheriff's office.
Meeks, who serves as chief deputy of the Steuben County Sheriff's Office, said the endorsement reflects shared values related to public safety and service to the community.
Schneider praised Meeks' law enforcement experience and said he believes Meeks is prepared to lead the department immediately if elected.
