(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is accepting applications for its latest class of Conservation Officers.

The DNR Division of Law Enforcement announced that the current hiring process is open to candidates interested in serving as state conservation officers, who enforce natural resource laws and provide public safety services across Indiana's waterways, parks, and rural areas.

Officials say the position offers a range of specialized assignments, including scuba operations, K-9 teams, river and cave rescue, sonar airboat operations, drone operations, investigations, field training, public information duties, and participation in the agency's honor guard.

Prospective applicants must complete a pre-screening test as part of the hiring process. Additional information and the screening form are available through the state's online application portal.

Conservation officers serve as fully sworn law enforcement personnel and often respond to emergencies in remote or hazardous environments statewide.
