(FREMONT) - A routine traffic stop early Saturday morning led to the seizure of more than 70 grams of suspected methamphetamine and the arrest of two people in Steuben County.

According to Indiana State Police, a probationary trooper on one of his first solo patrols stopped a vehicle shortly after midnight near State Road 120 and County Road 50 West for an equipment violation. During the stop, the trooper observed signs of drug activity and requested backup.

A search of the vehicle uncovered more than 73 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Police arrested Lydia Tuckerman, 25, of Bradenton, Florida, on charges of dealing methamphetamine, a Level 2 felony, and possession of methamphetamine, a Level 3 felony.

Tyler Brown, 39, of Muncie, faces the same felony charges, along with a misdemeanor count of possession of paraphernalia.

Both were taken to the Steuben County Jail.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing. All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
