(BRONSON TOWNSHIP) - A routine traffic stop turned into a major narcotics seizure early Tuesday morning. Just after midnight on November 19th, deputies pulled over a vehicle on U.S. 12 near Bawden Road in Bronson Township. During the stop, deputies became suspicious of drug activity and called in the Coldwater Police K9 Unit. The K9 conducted an open-air sniff and alerted to narcotics, prompting a search of the vehicle. Deputies say they found more than 240 grams of crystal meth and a significant amount of heroin, both packaged in a way consistent with drug distribution. The driver, a 39-year-old woman from Angola, was arrested without incident and taken to the Branch County Jail on multiple felony drug charges. Additional charges may be filed after review by the Branch County Prosecutor's Office. The suspect has not been arraigned.
